The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Representative to Tehran Nazim Dabbagh said the Kurdish region and the Islamic Republic of Iran have agreed to fight fuel smuggling.

A delegation from Kurdistan Region and Iran discussed ways to stop fuel smuggling into the region and Iran, Dabbagh told Kurdpress on phone on Monday, predicting that a Kurdish delegation will visit Tehran to discuss oil and gas ties between the two sides.

 Answering a question about his recent interview with Hawlati over Tehran- Erbil oil and gas deal, Dabbagh said he had already offered the two sides to boost their ties in fuel fields but no agreement has been made between the two sides yet.

The Kurdish official continued that there are plans for deals between the two sides but it depends on Tehran government and Iran oil ministry approval.

He further added the Kurdish region is ready to send a delegation to Tehran for more negotiation and hold meetings at the level of ministers and natural resources minister if necessary.
